FBP2005 is the 10th Conference on Free Boundary Problems of the series started in 1981 in Italy and it continues to be an important catalyst for the identification and development of this interdisciplinary mathematical field. It will take place between the 7th and the 12th of June, in the University of Coimbra, Portugal. The programme and the abstracts of the conference, as well as other relevant information are available in the web page http://www.fbp-2005.org.

There are 126 titles, 10 invited lectures, 60 talks organized in 15 Focus Sessions, and 56 communications distributed in Discussion Sessions, Contributed Talks and Posters. More than 160 participants from all over the world are expected to gather in the Campus of the University of Coimbra for the five days of intense work and exchange of knowledge.

The FBP2005 Conference is associated for the first time with an European Mathematical Society Lecture, a not very frequent and a distinguished feature, and integrates the activities sponsored by the new ESF Scientific Programme on Global and Geometrical Aspects of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (GLOBAL).
