The project “Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Interface Problems”, coordinated at the Centro de Matemática e Aplicações Fundamentais of the University of Lisbon, invites applications, until 6th February 2003, for a Post Doctoral Fellowship for research in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations in one of the following topics:
The position is funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) through the project “POCTI/MAT/34471/2000”. The project team includes Stanislav Antontsev and Anvarbek Meirmanov (University of Beira Interior), Maria da Conceição Carvalho (University of Lisbon and GFM) and José Francisco Rodrigues (University of Lisbon and CMAF) - coordinator (PI), Juha H. Videman (IST - Technical University of Lisbon), Isabel Figueiredo and José Miguel Urbano (University of Coimbra and CMUC). The selected candidate is expected to spend some time in more than one of the four universities involved in the project, starting between 1st September 2003, and 1st November 2003.
Grant amount: The position is for 12 months in Portugal, with the possibility of being extended for another 12, and the amount of the fellowship is 1495 Euro per month, free of taxes.
Eligibility and Deadline: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics obtained after 1st July 1999, and they must show a very strong research promise in one of the areas above. There are no teaching duties associated with this position.
