Prague hosts again an important meeting related to Numerical Mathematics. Between August 18 and August 22, 2003, Charles University Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, together with Institute of Chemical Technology Prague, Department of Mathematics organizes

ENUMATH 2003

the European Conference on Numerical Mathematics and Advanced Applications.

The invited speakers are A. Bermudez (Spain), R. Blaheta (Czech Republic), T. Gallouet (France), J. Haslinger (Czech Republic), R. Hiptmair (Germany), T. J. R. Hughes (USA), J. Rappaz (Switzerland), A. Russo (Italy), V. Schulz (Germany), A. Tveito (Norway).

The information about the conference can be found on the conference page

The Chairman of the conference is Prof. Miloslav Feistauer. Citing the conference pages, we find, that the ENUMATH Conferences started in 1995 (Paris) in order to provide a forum for discussion on RECENT ASPECTS OF NUMERICAL MATHEMATICS. They seek to convene leading experts and young scientists with special emphasis on contributions from Europe. The second, third and fourth ENUMATH Conferences were held in Heidelberg (1997), in Jyvaskyla (1999) and Ischia Porto (2001). Recent results and new trends in the analysis of numerical algorithms as well as their application to challenging scientific and industrial problems will be discussed. Apart from theoretical aspects, a major part of the Conference will be devoted to numerical methods for interdisciplinary applications.
